FLOOR CARE PRINCIPLES AFTER INSTALLATION

Correct humidity and temperature conditions must be maintained within the environment that the floor is installed. Expansion and contraction of flooring is not considered a defect. Victorian Designer Floors cannot accept liability for this seasonal movement. Environmental conditions as well as building design vary. Similarly, air-conditioning, internal heating, direct sunlight, site conditions and damp substrates can contribute to excessive movement. Liability from neglect, low maintenance and abuse by the purchaser or tenant cannot be accepted.

- Mats on both sides of entrance ways, not for decoration TO BE USED!

- Prevent water being walked or leaked onto the floor at all times especially at entrance ways

- Do not install this type of flooring in areas where excessive humidity may occur.

- When cleaning use water sparingly and mop dry after cleaning removing all excess water.

- Immediately remove stains and spillages.

- Protect your floor by using good quality felt pads under all furniture

- Always follow a professional maintenance program.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE

- Directly after installation, clean your new floor using a vacuum fitted with a soft bristle head removing all dust grit and any debris.

- We recommend the use of WOCA natural soap (Available from Victorian Designer Floors). We recommend the use of a flat mop head with a detachable pad for daily or weekly use

- Waxing is not recommended, the use of mop or vacuum your timber floors as required. Do not use a bucket and mop or flood your floor with water.

- Do not use bleach, ammonia or coustic based house hold cleaners as this will cause staining to your surface and potentially remove the floor surface treatment.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

- Install floor protectors on all furniture legs, especially if it has the potential of moving. Make sure you use the correct size and pad thickness for the weight and size of the furniture.

- Clean and replace felt pads yearly or sooner if they are thinning out or damaged.

- Gritty sand and dirt are abrasive to timber floors. Always use protective mats at doorways; use rugs (non-rubber backed) in high traffic areas.

- Wipe up all spills immediately – especially oils, fats and other greasy foods.

- Set up precautions and a regular maintenance program depending on your specific traffic conditions.

- Do not over-wet/saturate timber floors.
